Essential ASP.NET is a week of in-depth exploration of the core issues involved with building browser-centric Web applications, covering the latest technologies for architecting such applications. You will learn about the compilation engine of ASP.NET, see exactly how your .aspx pages are turned into .NET types, and learn how you can use those .NET types and others to build your Web sites. We will examine the features of ASP.NET that facilitate Web application design such as Master Pages, Custom Controls, State Management and Security just to name a few. You will leave the course with the knowledge and skills to develop applications using ASP.NET 2.0.
Slides, lab activities, sample applications and commentary all combine to show you not just how the technology works, but how to use it effectively -- and which parts to avoid. During the week you will get hands-on experience using Visual Studio .NET 2005.
Experience with an object oriented programming language such as C++, Java, C#, VB.NET or VB6 and HTML and Web page authoring will be necessary. Any experience with DHTML and classic ASP will help you understand the issues we focus on in this course better. Experience with .NET development will be beneficial as well.
