The problem remains with those get paid to do stuff and one of them is get paid to search. People use bulk emails list to point users to search for a specific word and click on results. So if your site is one of those 'unlucky' site who got struck by such a thing, I beleive you can't do anything about it since you are getting hits from different IPs.
