I am looking for PHP discussion forum software for my website. I am looking for powerful software (am tryin to know if any one knows other than vbulletin).
I will be happy if one any one suggests me the Free software

I personally is a big fan of punbb. www.punbb.org

The 1.3 release has been worked on for ages and is, supposedly, approaching beta right now.

vbulletin is top for paid forum board, phpbb, smf  is among the more popular open source forum program.

phpBB2 is your best bet for learning (IMO), it does not need linux, it has the largest database of add-ons and because of its already long lifetime, it has a massive and helpful user-base in its support forums. Another reason to use phpBB2 is it will allow you to get to know the community. Why do you want to stick to PHP so badly? Just started to read about Spring.net, as I wanted to find a framework for you that wouldn't be php and would be free. it's always new skills. http://www.springframework.net/index.html i'm rather impressed, they offer free training in NY and London. And this is open source and works on Apache.
